Accessibility
Accessibility statement.
This site should work for everyone.
I design products for people, and that includes people who read with a screen reader, move with a keyboard, need larger text or less motion. This page says what I did, what is still imperfect, and how to tell me when something gets in your way.
The standard
This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and to the Israeli standard IS 5568, which is based on them, in line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
Current status: partially conformant. Most of the site meets the standard; the exceptions are listed below.
What was done
- Structure
- Every page has a header, a main area and a footer, one main heading and headings in order, and a link that skips straight to the content.
- Keyboard
- Everything that can be clicked can be reached and used with the keyboard. Focus is always visible. Panels and dialogs keep focus inside while open, close with Esc, and return focus to where you were.
- Contrast
- Text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background. A high-contrast mode turns every grey into ink.
- Motion
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the illustrations and scroll scenes stay still. You can also stop them yourself from the accessibility menu.
- Images
- Images that carry meaning have a text alternative. Decorative drawings are hidden from screen readers.
- Forms
- Every field has a visible or programmatic label, and the job-fit and Ask panels announce their progress to screen readers.
- The accessibility menu
- Available on every page, bottom left: larger text in two steps, high contrast, stop animations, underlined links, a more readable font and a bigger cursor. Your choices are remembered on this device.
Known limitations
- Illustrated scroll scenes
- The drink scenes on the home page and the scroll-driven stories in the ALTA and Monto case studies are visual. Their text is available as text, but the drawings themselves have no full description. They can be stopped from the menu.
- AI-generated answers
- The Ask panel and the job-fit report are written by an AI agent from my real work. The interface is accessible, but the wording of an answer is generated and may be imperfect or wrong. If anything is unclear, write to me and I will answer myself.
- Embedded case-study previews
- The small live previews of the case studies on the home page are illustrations and are hidden from screen readers. The full case studies, one click away, are the accessible version.
- Interactive demos
- The simulated product demos inside the case studies (invented data) are designed primarily for a pointer and a large screen. They can be operated with a keyboard, but some of their visual changes are not announced.
How it was checked
Automated testing with axe-core on every public page, at desktop and mobile widths, together with keyboard-only testing and checks with the system's reduced-motion setting.
